Charting

With TradeStation 2000i, you have an unlimited source of inspiration for testing your own trading strategies, including over 300 of the most popular indicators and studies which can visually highlight and reveal potentially profitable chart patterns. This enormous library of analysis tools will turn out to be the building blocks of most of your trading systems.

And as comprehensive as this list is, you will never be limited to a set of pre-defined analysis techniques because every single analysis technique is completely customisable, thanks to the power and flexibility of EasyLanguage!

You will be able to display dozens of quote windows and charts at a time, overlay multiple built-in or custom studies on your charts, and even set alerts on your drawing tools and indicators. And with TradeStation 2000i, there are never any limitations on your data compression. Because, TradeStation lets you create charts based on any period of time, number of transactions, or trade volume on the fly--it's up to you.

SmartStyling adds yet another dimension to all the indicators on your charts. You can custom design the density and colour of your indicators to reflect any condition you'd like. For example, instantly gauge the market activity of a particular security by having the moving average line get thicker as the volume increases. And then, also have the indicator change in colour when trading volume exceeds a certain number. With SmartStyling, your indicators take on a whole dimension.

ProbabilityMaps let you forecast future market activity based on your own historical testing! TradeStation 2000i includes two built-in ProbabilityMaps, plus the ability to create your own with the power of EasyLanguage!

You can plot analysis tools into the future. How many times have you been viewing a chart and mentally tried to extend the trendline or analysis to the right of the chart? Well, you don't have to visualise it any more, because now you can do it automatically with TradeStation 2000i. Plotting indicators, trend lines, PaintBars and ShowMe's into the future is as simple as a clicking or dragging your analysis technique to the right on your chart.

PaintBar Studies are a revolutionary analysis feature that will colour code individual bars on a chart based on your own custom criteria. With a click of your mouse, for example, you ask TradeStation 2000i to highlight unusually low volume bars in yellow, high volume bars in red, and average volume bars in green. Or you could see every bar where a Bollinger band was penetrated in blue, for example.

PaintBar and ShowMe studies highlight potentially profitable market patterns. In this example, for instance, high volume bars have been coloured in yellow, while gap up bars have been marked with a pink dot.

ShowMe Studies are another exclusive analysis study that reveals potentially important market patterns by "marking" certain bars with a coloured dot. For instance, you could ask TradeStation 2000i to mark every bar where the volume was 30% greater than the average volume of the previous 20 bars. And you'd see the results instantly--for every single bar of your test period!
